The farther I walked, the more unfamiliar the names became on my Smartphone. But it was useless to try and access them. The lock icon revealed they were password protected.
Wi-Fi. A synonym for WLAN or wireless local area network. Some say it’s an acronym for wireless fidelity. I’m not as concerned about what it means as I am about what it allows me to do…access the internet wirelessly with my laptop, Smartphone, and IPad. But if I meander too far from the source-or don’t know the password, the signal becomes distorted or unavailable.
In Isaiah’s day, the source was God, but sin had taken the people so far from him that access was denied. Because of your sins, he has turned away and will not listen anymore (Isaiah 59:2 NLT).
An unknown source said, “Sin will take you farther than you want to go, keep you longer than you want to stay, and cost you more than you want to pay.” I’ve experienced this truth personally and watched it play out with family members and casual acquaintances.
Confession of sin is what initially connects me to God and re-connects me when I occasionally stray. It’s the wireless bond that keeps a strong signal between me and God and enhances our relationship.
Confession is what clears up the relationship between me and God when sin distorts it. It doesn’t give God information he’s not already aware of; rather confession acknowledges that I’m too far from the source.
Confession also reminds me sin is serious. Sin is more than a mistake, a slip-up, or a blunder. It’s an act of rebellion against a holy God who loves the sinner but not what their wallowing in.
Have you lost connection with the Source due to sin? Confession is the password that re-establishes service.
Prayer: Holy and Merciful Father, remind us our sins are against You and are serious. Prompt us to confess regularly and sincerely so that our connection with You will be clear, concise, and enjoyable.

Yes, confession is a good way to reconnect... my best reconnection/ getting back to open communication is admitting to Him that I just can't do any of it on my own and asking for His help :)
