Love Lights

Matthew 5:15 No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. (NLT)

I’ve been in caves where guides turned off lights and complete darkness engulfed us. I was always glad when they flipped the switch on, especially after they related how living in darkness would cause one to go blind. And I could only imagine how difficult it would be to find my way out with no light. Our personal lights are not activated by flipping a switch, pressing a button or striking a match. They are lit when we ask Christ to forgive our sins. Afterwards, we should share the light with others, but when we hide it we destroy its purpose. Sin, embarrassment, fear, busyness and pride can all extinguish our lights.
